Graphites

Graphites is derived from the mineral graphite or black lead, which is commonly used for pencil leads.

Treatment Use

Graphites is useful when any of the following are indicated:

Mental and emotional aspects

• Fidgeting, in particular when nervous and anxious
• Easily triggered feelings of guilt
• Depression
• Indecisiveness
• Timidness
• Post-menopausal depression
• Bulimia.

Physical aspects

• Eczema, particularly behind the knees, on the wrist, inside and outside of ears
• Contact ermatitis, particularly on the palms of the lands and between the fingers
• Psoriasis
• Dry, cracked and sore skin
• Itchiness or skin eruptions of the scalp
• Cold sores
• Stomach problems
• Cramp
• Constipation
• Styes
• Nail problems
• Chilblains
• Erratic menstrual cycle
• Morning headaches

Modalities

• Better: for eating.
• Worse: for heat

Treatment Tips

Use to treat the first outbreak of skin complaints - in particular eczema and dermatitis, particularly where there is a discharge. In these cases, the remedy should be supported topically with an application of the homeopathic ointment or cream.
